1. Do I need to worry about my privacy if I sign the petition?
2. Will signing the petition really help make our country safer?
3. What more can I do to help reduce the threat of nuclear terrorism?
4. Where can I learn more about these issues?
1. Do I need to worry about my privacy if I sign the petition?
No. We do not collect information about your street address, phone number, or e-mail when you sign the petition, so it is impossible for anyone to find out that information from PNTO's Petition database.
2. Will signing the petition really help make our country safer?
Yes. Signing the petition sends a message to our government that helping prevent nuclear terrorism is a top priority for you and the public, and that they need to immediately take significant action to avoid such a catastrophe.
3. What more can I do to help reduce the threat of nuclear terrorism?
Thank you for asking!
- Write a letter to your Congressperson and your Senators. We have included a link near the top of PNTO’s home page that enables you to quickly find the right addresses.
- Tell 5 friends about PNTO and urge them to sign the petition (and also write letters to Congress).
- Learn more about this topic in-depth (see PNTO’s Learn More section).
- Consider making a donation to PNTO (click here).
- Arrange a meeting with your Congressperson with a group of your friends and, as a group, tell your Congressperson how important this issue is to you and to enact legislation similar to that proposed in the petition.
4. Where can I learn more about these issues?
To learn more about this issue, go to PNTO’s Learn More section. The Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) and the Monterey Institute of International Studies also both have extensive and highly useful lists of internet links that you
can follow.
